So it’s all in the mindset and these are some of the ways to reset yours to help with the change of seasons:
- Embrace your environment - the change in colours, the coolness of the rain, the crunch of the leaves underfoot. Somebody’s probably called it “Mindfulness” at some point I’m sure! The “Glimmers” of life!
- Make your home as welcoming and cosy as possible which is not always easy to do as this depends on your accommodation but there is always something we can do in our immediate environment to make it feel a brighter place and to counteract some of the stress and tension that may be present in some situations. Add in some nice smells and bright colours perhaps. If you have children, maybe do something creative with them as a family in the home for Autumn which celebrates it!
- If you work and are working from home make sure you get outside in the day. We need light in the day to help us sleep at night so get outside for at least half an hour. Your brain will still be working whilst you’re walking so don’t think you can’t take time away from work in the day. Take care of yourself - walk, stretch, eat - you’ll find you’re more productive!
- Get out and socialise! Even if your mind says hibernate!
Take care All for now and I’ll buzz in for some Winter tips soon.
